Hello most excellent dudes and dudettes! I am trying to sew the 103 Skirt:

I’m having such a hard time understanding the instructions! I dunno, I guess the one paragraph included with the pattern just doesn’t quite cover it enough for me to wrap my head around it. If someone who understands it could give me a hand I would really appreciate it, cause right now I’m just sitting here staring at pieces of linen and feeling sad :(

Thanks so much!

Oh ya, unfortunately those look like typical Burda instructions. Is there some particular part(s) that you are stuck on? I haven’t made this skirt myself, but you may get more responses if you re-post the question with the pattern number/month/year in the subject line. Good luck!

I’m stuck on basically everything after “sew the darts.” :( Thanks!

Front darts-you press each one flat, then press dart to have its folded edge pointing/facing the centre front.

Second paragraph-read it through a couple of times. It does look like the side parts of Front are sewn together. After the seam is made, that will be one side of the pocket. >Basically, you are going to have to fold the front piece as instructed and sew the outer “tabs” together. I notice the lower corner of the tabs has an x.

I want you to make progress with your linen project so you can wear it. You’ll get there, just keep trying to get a paragraph done each time you sew.

Hi, I made the dress that had this same skirt. Piece 8 is the front piece that will be underneath piece 7. First sew the short edges of piece 7 together so it creates a tube. Press piece 7 along the vertical lines that come down from the waist. Those lines will match up with the same lines on piece 8. Pin 7 and 8 together at the waist along those lines. Then pin pieces 7 and 8 together along seam 9 and sew. This will create a little pouch pocket. Then your back skirt piece just gets sewn to the front along side seams.
