I am sewing simplicity 2053 http://www.simplicity.com/p-6372-misses-dresses.aspx in a stretch silk crepe. I think the dress will hang (and wear) much better if I line it. What is the best way to go about this? Should I sew up a lining using the pattern pieces (it has pleats on one side) or can I get away with modifying the bodice and skirt fronts to exclude the pleats and make a simple dress lining? I’m not sure how it will hang if I do this.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated

Make the lining without the pleats. You’ll need to use a stretch lining to match the stretch in the fashion fabric.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, it’s nice to get a second opinion :)
