I would have to say The Graduate is one of my favorites set in California, for sweet sentimental reasons.

I recently moved to Petaluma where American Graffiti was filmed and I’ve come to appreciate the small town feel the movie captured. Would love to go to the Maker Faire!

My favorite California-based film has to be Vertigo. What’s not to love about it, San Francisco, Kim Novak, the most amazing clothes…it’s perfect.

Does Star Wars Return of the Jedi count? I’ll always believe that Ewoks live in Humboldt county.

oh this is an EASY one! My favorite is filmed in the Bay Area, Dream for an Insomniac. It’s such a sweet romantic movie and really emphasizes the beauty and emotion of San Francisco. And I will be in Bay Area next weekend! YAY!

How can anyone have just one favorite film based in California?! I enjoyed City of Angels. The angels gathering on the beach in the morning to “hear” the sunrise was a special scene. Seeing the California vineyards in “A Walk in the Clouds” was also spectacular. I would love to attend the Makers Faire and also see the Bay Area for the first time.

One of the best has to be the Joy Luck Club. However on a more obscure note One Fast Move or I’m Gone the documentary based on Jack Kerouac and his book Big Sur made me so proud to live in such a beautiful state!!!!

I love the movies mentioned, but I also love The Princess Diaries, I love the little arcade museum off Pier 39. The movie features so many of the great sites of the city of San Francisco for everyone to enjoy. I would love to go to the fair ! It sounds like so much fun!

I love Lords of Dogtown set in Venice Beach, Ca. It reminded me of the old school Vans skater wear and the band Suicidal Tendencies back in the 80’s (I’m old!) but it also shows the beaches of Southern California. P.s. Maker Faire is awesome!!!!

Hoping to go to Maker Faire for the first time this year! Looking forward to seeing BurdaStyle there if I do. “Vertigo” is definitely my favorite movie that takes place in California. It also has some lovely outfits I intend to sew my own versions of one day.

I’m a novice sewer, but my daughter loves to sew! She takes different materials sews and stuffs them and creates many types of stuffed dolls, monsters, bugs, etc. We always try to sew our own Halloween costumes, etc. One of my favorite movies set in California is Little Miss Sunshine. We’d LOVE to go to the Maker’s Fair and see you there!
