This collection pulls inspiration from all over the world for a rich color palette, cozy outerwear, and go everywhere dresses. These designs are from the October 2014 issue of Burda Style magazine.

Bike cross country in this fun folk style Biker Jacket. Soft patterned jacquard gets a little toughness from leather insets and will keep you cozy on any kind of adventure.

Two tone fabric gives this day dress an ombre effect. It’s paneled at the shoulders and hip yoke for a fit and flare silhouette that you can make color blocked or monochomatic. A feminine but modern figure hugging silhouette.

Raw edges keep the Ruffled Peplum Jacket from looking too over-the-top girly. Chenille boucle gives it lots of texture, perfect for dressing up jeans and a long sleeved top.

Spend every fall day in this soft Cowl Neck Jersey Dress with a draped neckline. You’ll want one in a fun print for dressing up and a neutral shade for every day.

Get a cozy fall look without the bulk in this draped Swing Vest. The fronts are extra long for swing and movement and it’s finished with patch pockets.

A Raglan Tunic dress makes a quick and easy fall look in a fun tribal or jacquard print. The soft egg shape is easy to layer. Belt it for a different silhouette.

The Two in One Dress gives the illusion of an interesting outfit with a two tone skirt and attached blouse. The top has a slouchy wrap silhouette and the bottom shows some leg with a short hemline and mock slit.

Extra wide lapels have a seventies feeling in this full length Coat. It’s nipped in at the waist so it won’t overwhelm your figure while keeping you toasty warm. Make it in a fuzzy plaid or stripe.

Cozy up in a slouchy knit Crewneck Pullover. The oversized shape goes with all your skinny jeans and leggings.

Indulge your wanderlust in this globe trotting collection. Folky jacquards and interesting prints are ideal for travel. Pull a color palette from an heirloom blanket or antique silks.

Happy sewing!

Be aware. The directions for the peplum jacket are extremely difficult to follow. I have noted this comment before about this particular jacket and on many other forums regarding Burda patterns. This is a pity as they have some wonderful styles for sewing and knitting but one needs to be very experienced to attempt anything other than basic design.

Great individual designs. Especially if you make it work like a capsule. Add a pair of pants, a skirt, coordinating fabrics to mix and match… that would be such a great collection for the season.

Loving that 70s Style Coat. Just picked up my copy of BurdaStyleUK 10/2014 and now thinking what fabrics I already have that I can make it out of lol. Tempted to do a Leather version as I have a couple of huge full Hides in Dark Green and Forest Green. And the Two tone Day Dress. Now that’s got me thinking of what I can make for my daughter for her School French trip in a few weeks.

I like this collection. I would wear the fooler dress with leggings as it is more work appropriate. The paneled dress has been on my to do list for some time. Its all very comfortable for real women to wear on their everyday lives. Still its chic & modern.
