More sport, rest and quiet time: This comfortable collection for relaxation and yoga just about fulfills the New Year’s resolution on its own and is from the 01/2018 issue of BurdaStyle magazine.

Super quick to sew! This jacket has kimono sleeves and a hem that hangs longer in front that looks as great when worn casually open or closed with the tying belt.

Naturally, the look is relaxed – but style still leads the way. Some classic design elements remain…like the loose cut and kangaroo pockets. A rounded hem and a sparkling jersey knit fabric are fresh, and the sleeves get extra width with a box pleat.

So practical: To keep these leggings from pulling during a workout, we’ve sewn wide ankle cuffs at the hem. The front waistband has an overlap that is not only comfortable, but stylish, as well.

Proof that sporty shirts can also be stylish and fun. This design features couture draping and a cutout in back. A practical detail: a hole for the thumb in the sleeves.

The wide cut of the T-shirt lets it hang comfortably relaxed and asymmetric at the hem. The cut-on sleeves are seamed in back – to shape it without taking away a bit of comfort.

Whether some yoga or time on the sofa is on the agenda: These harem trousers with the cropped and cuffed legs are pretty much a necessity. The wide waistband can get easily adjusted with the tying bands.

Even the sewing process for this style is relaxing. The jumpsuit is made with a jersey batik look fabric, is quickly sewn together and drapes beautifully thanks to the harem style. A fitted shelf bra top sewn in means that a sports bra isn’t necessary.

A cool twist: The knot at the front of the shirt draws attention towards the shaped waistline. The wide and oval neckline is finished with a narrow binding that holds the shape. When sewn with a solid colour silk jersey, this style also works beautifully for an evening out.

I was just reading the other posts about wanting the yoga patterns in plus size. Quite frankly I am surprised that it is 2018 and we still have to ask for this. I was in high school in the mid 70’s and was bullied insanely because I was overweight. There were absolutely zero fashionable, in style clothes in plus size back then and almost nothing in plus size patterns. It was the 70’s! The coolest clothing ever, in my opinion! I wanted to wear those clothes so bad I would cry about it. It was really embarrassing in my Home Ec class when one of the biggest male bullies in the school came over to see what I was making and said, “That’s for skinny cows!” The pattern was a very simple tunic I wanted to make to cover my butt. I am truly over all that crap and am very comfortable in my plus sized body, I just wanted to drive the point home. There is absolutely no reason that ALL patterns and ready made clothing can’t be in plus sizes! It would be so nice to see the fashion industry wake up and stop the practice of ignoring us. I am now thrilled that those styles are back in, I can finally live my dream of wearing the cool hippie clothes and I am actually teaching myself pattern drafting and re-sizing and so I buy any pattern I want and can MAKE it fit me! I am also crocheting and starting a shop in Etsy to sell my cool hippie/gypsy style clothes I am making. I will let you all know when it’s up and running.

I really would love some plus sized yoga wear – not dreary track pants but something to feel good in.

love the designs. Too bad that these are not available in plus sizes. Yoga is done by plus-sized women too ;-(

So please, make all patterns available in all sizes.
