Biker jackets, tie-dye tops, flowery dresses: These street style garments make for a casual look that is ultra-cool. Soft fabrics, fine details, and feminine cuts are turned into fashion that rocks! Check out all the new design from the latest pattern collection of burda style magazine’s March 2013 issue.

With padded quilting on the elbows, shoulder tabs, and a zip up to the lapel corners, this short, fitted blouson Biker Jacket has all the elements of the original biker jacket. In stead of leather we’ve used a textured woven fabric – in case you aren’t going to a concert and plan to wear this to work.

Janis Joplin would have loved this! The Long Waistcoat of fine cotton lace transforms a simple jeans outfit into a spectacular hippy look. The armholes and hem are faced with strips of tulle.

This airy Top with cowl neck and tie-dye print is a last-minute piece for club nights. It can be made in less time than it takes to listen to an LP. And a plain-colored version can easily be made for work.

Both edgy and feminine – this Flowery Dress is a sure hit! An empire line and full bell sleeves give it a special touch. There’s a sewn-in bust section so you don’t show more than you want to.

Here is the Folk Skirt. In the summer of 2013 it’s sewn from different batiste fabrics and does without a waistband. It’s so airy and light that you won’t want to wear anything else…

Whether striding across the festival site or pottering about town, this Cape is ideal for both. Hook-and-loop fastenings and visored hood keep you well wrapped up, no matter what the weather. A drawstring allows you to cinch the loose style with its casing over the sleeves and waist.

Here are the edgy Biker Leather Pants. If you think of biker pants as sexy but uncomfortable – then try these ones made out of nappa leather. The slender red leather trousers are gorgeously soft but still perfectly figure hugging. The quilted, padded knees are typical biker style.

This cropped cowl top is a great alternative to a vest! And we love it paired with this flared, schoolgirl-look Mini-skirt. The flounces are sewn directly to the main skirt.

Happy Sewing!

The stitching over the elbows on the biker jacket and over the knees on the biker leather pants is spot on trend…excellent!

Loving the cape and the flowery dress! And the overall feel of the street chilling – so cool; I will try to replicate that to my own wardrobe this spring.

I love when biker jackets are made out of wool! It looks super adorable and fun :) I would love to see more free patterns, though.

The fashion industry in general is quite boring for men unless you go over to Korea or Japan
