The Boho Blouse is an airy tunic that is suitable for any occasion! You can wear it to the beach as a cover up, or wear over sleek trousers and heels for a night out. The neckline features a mandarin collar and the front slit is finished with a placket that can be a design feature if cut in a contrasting fabric. And now it is offered through Sprout Patterns, so you can get the pattern pieces directly printed onto your fabric. Read on to learn more…

This sample I made from their Basic Cotton Ultra and in size 38. For a lighter tunic suitable for spring and summer, opt for the Poly Crepe De Chine or Silky Faille!

The front placket makes for a great contrasting detail, and to mark you will need to reference the digital pattern. We provide a printing legend within the Sprout instructions that will tell you which exact pages the marking is on so you don’t have to print out the entire pattern.

Same goes for the darts, because we don’t want the dart leg lines visible inside your garment, so simply mark your dart legs with a removable fabric pen according to the pattern. Remember to add seam allowances too!

This pattern also features little hem bands that you can make as the same contrasting fabric as your placket. First press in half widthise, wrong sides together, and pin to your sleeve hem.

Then sew and serge-finished in place. Press allowance towards the sleeve.

Sew the sleeve seam and serge-finish. Then press the allowance towards the one side and topstitch in place.

Finished Boho Blouse laying flat with contrasting placket, collar, and sleeve bands.

This sample was sewn in a size 38 using their Organic Cotton Sateen Ultra which made the blouse have a tiny bit of stretch to it!

What is great about Sprout Patterns is the ability to create matching co-ordinates from your prints!

It really works well with this pattern since the placket, collar, and sleeve bands look really sharp in a popping color. This print is from our BurdaStyle signature fabric print collection that you can use to make your Sprout patterns in. If you want to shop our collection and use for your garment, within the design tool filter fabric designs by “designer” and type in BurdaStyle. There you will find all our prints.
