This morning it was announced that Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate gave birth to a little baby boy! Being fans of the royal family – we were thrilled to hear the news and is making us even more excited for the upcoming royal wedding. All this baby talk is making us think of all the adorable baby pattern we have here on BurdaStyle.com, and have compiled our favroite inspired by the new royal baby – the 5th heir to the throne…

Prince George has the most adorable style, and we bet this new little prince will dress just as dapper!

Royal Baby Style Playtime

For playtime we love these Baby Overalls, with their crossover back straps and contrast piping – these casual overalls are suited for a playing Prince. Speaking of play time, why not make your little one’s play blocks! Our Soft Building Blocks are a FREE download and make a perfect playtime companion while using up all your scrap fabrics.

Royal Baby Style Nautical

Nautical themes are so cute for little ones, and this collection has so many styles. First off adore this Anchor Baby Jumpsuit, and could see the new royal rocking this look for an outing with Kate, or even this Sailor Baby Top paired with little shorts for a warm London summer day. To top it all off we love this Baby Hat – and could even see sister Princess Charlotte wearing a matching one.

Royal Baby Style Bedtime

Every little one needs a onesie! This footed pair of Onsies are a perfect choice with lots of snaps for easy removal and also sewn in a striped jersey keeps with the nautical theme. We also have another pattern that are un-footed and can be downloaded here.

Royal Baby Style Diaper Bag

Baby’s stuff on the go needs to go somewhere too, and our Diaper Bag pattern is the solution. Sewn in nylon it is waterproof and the ability to sew one yourself you can opt for fabrics matching the baby’s stroller for a matching royal look!

Royal Baby Style Grown Up

All babies must grow up, and these styles remind us of stylish little Prince George and perhaps the new little royal will follow in his brother’s suspender loving footsteps. We also feel all Londoners have their go-to trench coats and our Boy’s Trench Coat is a fabulous project for your little one. Then for special occasions we have these Boy’s Pleated Pants that are adorably held up by suspenders.

We are now anxiously waiting to hear what the new Prince will be named!

How fun! And a great way to be part of this event for those of us not in London. It also reminds us about what’s important in life as well as a nice way to move away from the terrible news we experience every day. We all need to chill out and enjoy the simple things in life. Best Wishes to Kate & William. May your new son bring you much joy. We will be watching.

I’m just really tired of Burda exoticizing British people as the “other” across the sea. No, not all Londoners have a trench coat, thank-you very much, and not everyone in the British royal family is in the navy. Go put on some lederhosen, Burdastyle.
