That fashion contrasts add variety, is nothing new. This trend underlines the cliché in a most beautiful way: Sheer and opaque fabrics intermingle as panels of the same blouses and tops. Ruffles and special details of the styles have a particular Victorian middle-age spirit that perfectly embodies and plays with the convergence of strong and feminine – stunning contrasts rolled into one.

RUNWAY 2

This is achieved either with a direct combination of a masculine shirting and an organza (Genny), or with panels cut away in multiple layers so that coverage is subtly given (Chanel, John Galliano). To keep the look as it is presented on the runway, combine the pieces with extra-feminine skirts. Fashionistas might also choose to style it with edgy leather trousers or jeans in distressed denim for a third element of contrast.

The lower bodice panel can be adjusted to your style preference with a coordinating petersham belt to draw it close. Create the trend for yourself with this lovely victorian blouse!

Even though this blouse delivers high on the style, it can be styled many different ways – here are some of our favorite ways to wear this blouse:

Victorian Trend Pattern NOTEWORTHY NEUTRAL

You don’t get more neutral than black and white, and here we love it paired with these sleek trousers and a pair of matching fashion sneakers.

Victorian Trend Pattern DAYTIME DAZZLE

Sometimes you just want to dazzle up your daytime look, and this blouse look fabulous with jeans too – especially these ones with flounces. Then use your accessories and shoes to bring a little light into the look!

Victorian Trend Pattern EVENING ELEGANCE

If you are wearing this blouse in the evening, why not have some fun with it and add in some color with a skirt like this one as well as the shoes. You can then top it off with a trending pair of tassel earrings – and a pulled back hair look with really highlight them along with the striking neckline of the blouse.

Great post. I love these trend alerts and ‘sew the look’ kind of patterns.
