How do I find this interfacing equivalent in Canada? I can’t find Vilene stuff.

I was really glad to see this list in the 2/2014 issue of Burda. I agree with Leafandlinen though – I’d love to see the corresponding Pellon to Vilene item numbers. For the Vilene items I absolutely cannot live without I order from the UK – which is a bit extreme I realize, but I really do love their bias and edge tapes! That said, there are some really great interfacings both fusible and non, woven and knit as well as insertions available in the US not made by Pellon. I just wish we could get the entire Vilene product line here! :(

Here’s a product pdf-10 pages long and in English:http://www.vlieseline.de/dyndata/EN_Gesamtprospekt.pdf Videos and leaflets from the SERVICE tab:http://www.vlieseline.de/English/Service.htm

One can also do a search for interfacing/fleece by indicating interfacing use and garment area to generate product results.http://www.vlieseline.de/English/Products/Product_search.htm

BTW, it’s very hard to see interfacing boards marked as certain brand name products unless the plastic wraps give the names. I am usually left to look at the mostly white woven and nonwoven stock and pick something that seems to suit the sewing need. Bonus if I find a Vilene/Pellon by name notation anywhere on the board! Knit fusible is hard to find but I once used black knit fusible to give a Viyella blouse’s sleeve caps some body with success. No idea what brand it was…

This post was a great idea. Like bekabug8, I also like the knit fusibles. Maybe they’re not included here because Vilene/Pellon doesn’t make any? I agree with leafandlinen too. It would be nice to see the Pellon numbers included; it would make shopping for these interfacings easier. Please could you also post this type of information for Vilene/Pellon batting? For example, jacket #126 (BurdaStyle 052010) calls for Vilene/Pellon 281. I’m still trying to decide what to buy to replace this batting, since I haven’t any clue what the Vilene/Pellon 281 is like. One last suggestion/request: could you offer a Vilene/Pellon sampler “kit” with 2 × 2 inch swatches of each Vilene/Pellon interfacing? I would buy one for sure. It would be a big help to those of us trying to find substitutes for specific Vilene/Pellon interfacings when we can’t find the originals! Thanks.

Great idea––the sample kit of swatches of Vilene/Pellon interfacing. I’ve bought a pattern and haven’t a clue what Vilene/Pellon G 700 is. A swatch kit would be very valuable.

What about knit fusibles? There’s a whole category missing.

It would be nice to know the Pellon numbers as well so we don’t have to Google them, since they are different. For example, Vilene G700 is Pellon SF101. Is there any way this could be updated? Thanks!
