My point turner tool is amazing. I was always looking for something small, but not too sharp and the things I used never stayed there.

A pincushion! I was given one recently, & realised how much easier it makes sewing (never again will I have to dig around in a container for a pin, pricking myself constantly as I do so…)

My best sewing tool is my bernina sewing machine that my mom got in Australia in the eighties. It is badass! I dread the day I will have to get a modern machine :)

I find that my homemade point presser & clapper is best thing my boyfriend made for me. It helps me from over pressing!

My pattern cutters set square – I love it as I know I’m always starting along the right lines! OOH! and my rotary cutter and the large cutting board that saves my table and my back from further damage.

The best “new” tool in my sewing room is my Janome TB30 Threadbanger sewing machine. It is quite an upgrade from the last sewing machine I used, and I love it!

One of my best new tools is my “Curvey” ruler by Crafty Bev! It’s about 3 times smaller than a regular fashion curve ruler and it is even made of a flourescent green for awesome visibility on any fabric color! I just love it for drafting doll clothing patterns!

Simple tools! My Dahle sissors (very sharp, narrow blade gets into tight places) and my iron & ironing board. I had a Rowenta for decades, but it is time to retire the current model.

I love my magnetic pin cushion (i forget the name of it). No matter how careful I am I always drop pins, and this catches them as I take them out as well as lets me sweep the floor for any loose ones. Love it!

The deadline is listed as Saturday, December 11th – but Saturday is December 10th…. So I’ll post anyway! My best “new” tool for sewing is the press that was loaned to me by one of the tailors I collaborate with. This press is absolutely awesome, and has made the pressing part of sewing into sheer pleasure!

Most every tool is needed but the essentials for me are simple scissors and an iron is also necessary along with a seam ripper.

I think an iron is a sewists best friend. From ironing your pattern pieces flat, to the final pressing, you just don’t get a quality garment without pressing throughout the process. This iron looks AMAZING!!!
