Well, I have recently moved and I am creating a space for myself and my sewing machine and all kinds of fun and inspirational notions, fabrics, trims patterns etc. I have a wall of what would be considered a dining area- but in the meantime I have been going to my mom’s to sew in her dedicated sewing room-which I love.

I sew in my dining room! Well, if you can call it a dining room. There’s a dining room table, and a lamp that hangs, so I’m sure it qualifies. I’m a single mom, and my son gets the bedroom in our 1-bdrm apartment, so the dining room table is the best workspace I have right now. It’s also a gym, as my treadmill is next to my sewing machine! Heh.

I dream to have a dedicated space for sewing. My answer would be to say that as long as I have a surface large enough to put a sewing machine, that would be a dedicated sewing area. I have a few machines that I can sew in the home or on the road!

I have a sewing space set up in our basement utility room. No windows but I do have big closets to store everything. Only a few more years till our daughters are out on their own then I may get to take over a bedroom and be upstairs!

I’m between two rooms right now. I’m moving my sewing stuff from the guest room into our media room/music room. Currently, my sewing machine, the serger and most of my fabric is in the guest room. My cutting table is in the media room. I am hoping to have everything moved into the media room within the next few weeks.

I don’t have a dedicated sewing space, so I keep my machines on small sections of my desks in my bedroom and living room.

Yes, I do have a sewing room! After years of being relegated to the kitchen table, part of a closet, a small corner of the bedroom, another closet, into the dinning room when space and time allowed, and various other creative spaces I finally have a room just for me. I can’t really call it just a sewing room, as everyone else has said, I have many other pursuits. I love to sew, quilt, knit, crochet, paint and make jewelry. I even like to go in the kitchen and cook as long as I can still have time to get back to my sewing room!

Absolutely must have my own sewing room…but also known as the guest room, the junk closet, the whale room (for the large picture of orcas painted on the wall), the library, and the kids old room. Oh well, it works for me.

No, I don’t have a dedicated sewing room (although I’m sure my hubby would beg to differ). I use the dining room for sewing and our pool table has a top I put on it for a very large cutting table.

I have a sewingroom/storage space. Right now it is more of the storage space. I love to sew in there though with the blinds up so I can see what is going on in the world of my street. I have an old old army desk that is the perfect height and is strong and sure to put both my sewing machine and serger on side by side. It makes it great for me since I sew cooling scarves for the troops and can easily slide from one chair to the other while working on them. It ain’t a pretty room but its all mine.

I do not have a sewing room. My machine is set up on the kitchen table now. I do have an extra room that I was doing some sewing in. I got a new sewing machine, my daughter set it on the table and I don’t have the strength to take it to the other room, but I like it where it is.

When I am home, the dining room is my designated sewing area. My husband’s job takes us on the road quite a bit. Fortunately, my machine is not in a cabinet and is easy to transport in a carrying case. The kitchenette table in our travel trailer makes a good workstation for my sewing projects. Hopefully, I’ll be able to have a special working space at home some day. And I am on the lookout for a portable workstation that will fit in our RV.

I don’t have a dedicated sewing room, just a corner of the dining room. It keeps me out with my husband though, so I’m really happy with it right now.

After years of squeezing my sewing and craft materials into a spare bedroom, stuffing fabric in closets and using shoe boxes for storeage I finally have an actual space dedicated to sewing and crafts. We purchased a new home In April. I now have the entire basement of our home that has been turned into “Craft Heaven” according to friends and family. I sectioned off a small area for beads and jewelry making, another area for making hand dyed fabrics, and another section for small wood and metal work projects. The remainder of the space is for fabric storage and a cutting area. The best part is the area I have set up with 4 sewing machines. One was mine, one my mothers and two others were given to me. My dream is to teach sewing / crafting classes to girls who want to learn, thus creating another generation of sewers/crafters. I started by teaching my boyfriends two granddaughters how to make Barbie clothes. I am so very fortunate and truly appreciate every square inch of space I have. This is my dream come true.

I recently converted the playroom in our house to a sewing room. It’s wonderful because I have enough room to leave the machines, cutting table, and ironing board set up. I’ve found that I sew more with a designated sewing room than I do when I have to drag everything out and set it up.

I have a big desk in the nursery that holds my two machines, but I also take over the dining room table when I have a big project. I’m thinking of taking over my husband’s shed and making that my designated sewing space. I guess I’ll find out how much he loves me when I ask…

I sew every chance I get and since I have been blessed with being able to generate income from my sewing, I get the opportunity to sew every day. I have converted the spare bedroom into my sewing room, but I usually end up taking over the entire house with my projects.

I have a room for sewing and my office just off the dinning room. I plan to reorganize and give me a special sewing room. I use my dinning room table for cutting fabric. I picked up a old blue white sewing machine when I was at a thrift store. I plan on giving it to someone who needs a sewing machine. Sew Happy to Everyone… Happy New Year
