I finally dedicated one room in the house to my sewing only. I painted it pink so that the 4 other males in the house would know it is off limits to them. Ironically, they see it as novel and like to look in the long mirrors and talk on the phone with their girlfriends! My husband likes the larger ironing board.

I have a large bedroom where I set up a sewing corner. I love working on things in my room where I have everything I need at my fingertips.

I sew in a sewing room off of my master bedroom. My hubby had it built for me when we added on to our home. Makes it nice because I can work on something and not have to clean up, just shut the doors.

I sew on “my side” of the bedroom (my husband has his side for his music equipment). I am hoping to have my own sewing room some day though because the bedroom is getting too crowded for both of our hobbies!

At my old apartment, I had a closet large enough to house a desk, my sewing machine and an ironing board. Unfortunately, since we moved, I have to use a corner of my bedroom for the sewing station.

I started on my coffee table, then took over a corner of the living room. I block off the corner with the ironing board, so the family knows not to cross the line!

I’ve had a dedicated sewing room for years but it’s still way too small. My dream is to turn my office into a sewing room after I retire.

Alas, not now. My sewing space is on a table in the back of my kitchen which also holds my printer and lots of papers, books, my daughter’s Christmas tree skirt which she never got back over here to finish repairs on- next year?, probably some supplies from camp last summer and my little cat who likes to sit there and look out the window. The project of this week is to finish clearing off the table- just in time for the New Year.

I sew on my dining room table which is used for just about everything else too. I do have a room which I could dedicate to sewing but I like being able to whip out the sewing whenever I spy a five minute window of opportunity (siblings playing quietly together, naptime etc.).
