I really love to make anything that I can embellish and/or embroider with my very own creative touch. Whether it be a pincushion or play clothes for THE Granddaughter (2 1/2 yrs), I almost, always alter the pattern someway and do something that either shouts out or subtly sugests my wacky humour. Because? It’s bubbling up inside and has just got to come out as something creative… or frustration bursts the bubble and then…look out!

I live making clothes for kids. So much of the clothing the kids wear today is mass produced and emblazoned with logos and cartoon characters I love to make unique pieces which allow their personality to shine through. Sometimes I make a larger size for the mummy too for added cuteness!

I most enjoy making things for my husband. He’s a big guy but loves his clothes. He is forever picking out neat combinations of cloth for me to make something for him. Mens clothes patterns are scarce or nonexistant in most pattern companies. Fortunately Burda still has choices.

I love making t-shirts! After I edited my pattern (so it fits me perfectly), I use it to make all sorts of shirts from very lovely knits. I can change the details such as sleeves or collar for variations. My t-shirts look flattering (I’m plus size, so this is important) and are unique.

I love making clothes, but I hate how long it can take and how the finished probably might not FIT! I like smaller projects, such as pillowcases, grocery bags, purses, etc. Things that take a smaller amount of fabric, usually turn out good (not an embarrassment to wear), and are great gifts. I look forward to making home accessories, such as placemats and napkins.
