i am a newbie & am making a cape. it’s actually much more complicated than i thought with all the pieces to join. but it’s dramatic/whimsical,…red wool with demure paisley lining…will make one in lighter summer fabrics as well :)

Dresses, because they’re an instant outfit. Blouses, because I need more of them. I know the minute I start making panties, it will be oh-so-addicting though!

My favourite thing to make is blouses and tops — they’re so versatile and you can get really original. I really like making short-sleeved tops in knit fabrics in particular.

I love to make relatively simple skirts and dresses with just a few interesting details – that way I wear them often, and get the thrill of wearing my handmade clothes without worrying about breaking them like I do with the fancy stuff!

I love making dresses! I have become quite accomplished. But I’ve had a recent interest and success with making totes and clutches. I love using bold fabric that will stand out so that these simple sewing items look posh and extraordinary.

I love making anything that comes together well, and is able to be used for it’s intended purpose. That means that beanbags and other four side things are usually my safest best :)

My favorite things to make are costumes. I look forward to making my daughter’s costumes every year for Halloween and Christmas. It’s a chance for me to expand my imagination as she feeds me hers and we come up with some pretty cool costumes! By the time I am done making them I have paid for materials and fabric more than what it would have cost me had I bought one for her but the end results are so worth it!

The winning would quickly be spent, where I would gravitate towards the silks as they have such an elegant feel & drape, with the possibility of adding some matching wool for either a skirt or slacks
