I love making hot packs / wheat bags. Quick and easy to make and they use up lots of small bits of fabric. Just finished another bunch for 8 teenage girls that live in a home for street girls. A feel good sewing project!

I love to create period costumes, but enjoy sewing all garments. Britex has some of the most beautiful colors, textures and patterns I have ever seen. What a joy it would be to touch the fabrics too : )

Christmas gifts are my favorite thing to make, because my family is so tough to buy for. They buy themselves everything they need, but I can always come up with a homemade gift that they appreciate.

I seem to go through phases of things I like to make… I love sewing for my kids, but right now I’d say I really love sewing bags. I love being able to customize the details (pockets, closures, etc) and getting it just the way I want. It’s a great creative outlet!

First is the custom cloth dolls I make to sell (with a few for myself). Each one starts out with the same basic body pattern but once that’s sewn and stuffed, each one comes out different and unique even if I’m doing two of the same character at one time. For myself sewing, I love one of my oldest business jacket patterns. For the most part it’s a pretty simple pattern but I make each one different with different fabrics, accents, and buttons. Once sewn I then I tailor each one according to the fabric type and the look I want.
