I like to sew clothing. I love it when people ask me where did I get my outfit and I can proudly say that I made it. My daughter brags about the outfits I make her all the time. I love having one-of-a-kind pieces that I made just for me.

I love making dress up clothes for my daughter. There is nothing like watching her imagination light up when she puts on a new play dress. Today a princess, tomorrow a mermaid. Each moment is worth every stitch.

I have to say, corsets, when I find the time to work on them. Whether for women or my recent efforts to make a man’s corset, the results are fabulous. Huge amount of work, but fabulous!

Projects that work up quickly and have a purpose. I started quilting to decrease my fabric stash and now make quilts and small stuffed animals that are given to local hospitals and children’s shelters. I can continue to buy fabric and have the satisfaction of sewing.

I think my favourite thing to make is gifts for anyone. I’m always so short of time that, when I do anything, it has to be with someone in mind or rather I wouldn’t do it. If I had all the time in the world, I would like to do… well, also gifts. I’m hopeless.

I love planning new projects, but my favorite things to make are the patterns I’ve made before or the ones I know will be simple, because I’m impatient and want to see the finished result. I love dresses most of all, because they’re so pretty and satisfying.

I love making dresses for my nearly 2 year old girl (even though she likes wearing her big brothers clothes) and toys for both my chidren. I love that my son watches me sew and says he wants to learn one day. Also, I like covering furniture with new slip covers.

My favourite thing to make is everything! Sounds a little silly and cliche but it’s so true. THe sense of accomplishment of finishing a project and it being functionable and wearable, is the best!!!
