I love anything to do with sewing. My mom sewed a lot when I was growing up. I got my love of sewing from her. My mother is now deceased and I know she would be proud to know that I’m keeping up her love of sewing too.

I haven’t ‘found’ my own style yet…but I’m working on it. Vintage is often the best place to start as they designed with elegant lines which I can adjust to add a dash of my own flare! when fabric too pricey for a simple project I’ll often buy a cheap high fashion item and bling it up. It’s amazing what a little inspiration, from magazines, patterns, blogs and books, can achieve. <3

…my very first inspiration for sewing came from my grandfather and the need clothes for my barbies! My grandfather’s family used to have a factory for men’s clothing, so he certainly did know his way around sewing and how to make everything i sewed with him fit perfectly- no matter whether it was for my barbie or for myself! Nowadays i just simply hate to go shopping – i prefer to be individual and independent!

I tend to stick to the basics (they’re safe bets and I can then get lots of wear out of what I make), but am seeking new sources of inspiration other than the pattern catalogs and fashion magazines. I am eager to read through all of these posts and get some new ideas. All of the books in this giveaway sound great – I am particularly excited to check out the title, “The Party Dress,” as I love making formal dresses!
