Bring more than just a nice bottle of wine to your next party - bring it in a nice bag! This wine gift bag sews together quickly and adds some glitter to your bottle of bubbly while also using up those little bits of scrap fabric you may have lying around your sewing studio.
- Jute fabric with dots
- Sewing pins
- Hand gauge
Cut pieces (apx. 16 x 80 cm/6.5 x 31.5 in) of felt and use fusible Vilene to fuse them together with wrong sides facing. Use the templete on the bottom fold and mark the cutting lines without seam allowances.
Reinforce both inner openings of the handle rings with a narrow zigzag stitch.
Fold the bag together and pin it in place at all outside edges with linings together. Zigzag with a narrow stitch around outer edges.
Create the lower corners (as shown clearly on the template) and cut away excess.
Pin each corner before topstitching with a narrow zigzag stitch.
Now all you have to do is fill these bags with your favorite wine to share as a gift, and due to the handle you won't even need to worry about dropping it on the way!
