INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
Iron pattern pieces A and B from Decovil onto the wrong side of pattern pieces A and B from the outer fabric.
STEP 2
Cut a piece of elastic cord 5.5 cm (2 1/4 in) long and fold it into a loop. Pin it to the center of the right side, along the straight edge of pattern piece B (the loop points downwards).
STEP 3
Place A and B right sides together and stitch the center seam 1 cm (3/8 in) from the edge (catch the elastic cord loop). Press the seam allowance apart.
STEP 4
Fold the elastic cord loop to pattern piece A (lid) and topstitch along the seam on both sides.
STEP 5
Pin the piece consisting of the outer fabric and Decovil to a piece of lining (pink linen), right sides together. Stitch all around approx. 1 mm outside the Decovil edge (at approx. 1 cm (3/8 in)). Leave an opening of approx. 8 cm (3 1/4 in) for turning right side out.
STEP 6
Trim the seam allowance all around (leave an approx. 5 mm (1/4 in) seam allowance at the opening). Carefully clip/trim the corners.
Turn right side out through the opening on the right side of the fabric.
STEP 7
Close the opening by hand and press the edges flat. Topstitch all around, close to the edge.
STEP 8
Clip the side edges together. Now topstitch the two side seams close to the edge.
STEP 9
Punch the two holes and attach the snap buttons using the Vario pliers.
STEP 10
Iron pattern piece C to the wrong side of the leather and cut out the leather with a seam allowance of approx. 5 mm /1/4 in).
STEP 11
Using the leather glue, fold the seam allowance edges to the inside and glue (to the Decovil). Glue the leather pattern piece C to the back/wrong side.
Topstitch the edges all around (carefully trim protruding leather, if there is any).
STEP 12
Punch the holes and thread the buckle and loop through. Fold the template at the markings and stitch close to the edge.
STEP 13
Attach the handbag ring and leather strap to the elastic cord.
