Print the pattern and cut out your size from the paper. Fold your fabric in half right sides together and cut out pattern twice with 1cm seam allowance all around. Also mark the round contour of the pattern on the fabric with chalk.

DIY Shoes STEPS 1 2

Step 1: Put the two foot parts together at the outer edges. Stitch the pieces together with the sewing machine along the marked chalk line. So that you can turn the foot part later, leave the seam open at one edge for about 5 cm. Backstitch well on either side of the opening for reinforcement.

Step 2: Trim back the seam allowances to 5 mm width. Clip the corners, and along the curves clip in small triangles.

DIY Shoes STEPS 3 4

Step 3: Turn the foot parts through the seam opening to the right side. Press the edges and also press in the allowances into the opening. Put the press edges together at the opening and stitch closed with the sewing machine close to the edge.

Step 4: Lay the cut piece again on the foot parts and mark the inside edge marking with a pin.

DIY Shoes STEPS 5 6

Step 5: Mark the center with a pin at the front of the foot and the soles. Pin the foot parts with pins onto the soles, making sure that the inside edge of the foot pieces lies on the inside edge of the soles.

Step 6: Thread a long piece of 6-ply thread into the embroidery needle and knot the end. Secure the foot pieces with the thread and overcasting stitches on the sole. Make sure that you tighten the stitches and the distance between the stitches is about 1 cm. Knot the thread end and sew the end to the inside.

DIY Shoes STEPS 7 8

Step 7: Cut the ribbon into two equal parts. On the outside of the foot piece stitch one end of the ribbon inputting it 1 cm inside the foot piece. Close the other end of the ribbon by folding back 1cm of allowances and stitching in place.

Step 8: Cut the elastic band in half and stitch the elastic on the inside edge of the foot piece 1 cm from the edge, and underlapping also 1 cm. Pin the other end of the elastic to the ribbon and try on the shoe, adjust to desired length and sew together.
