Donut Case Steps 1 2

Step 1: Cut fabric pieces: Solid circle: 2x from wool fabric, 2x from cotton fabric, 2x from fusible web; piece with hole: 1x from wool fabric; icing (smooth or wavy as desired): 1x from leather

Step 2: Iron each circle of cotton fabric to a circle of wool fabric, with the help of fusible web. Iron fusible web to the wrong side of the leather icing piece, then iron this piece to the circle with the hole.

Donut Case Steps 3 4

Step 3: With metallic thread, sew the edges of the leather icing piece in place by hand or machine (e.g. with closely spaced zig-zag stitch). We decided to sew buttonhole stitches by hand.

Step 4: Decorate the icing with beads. To do this, sew individual beads in place by hand, always knotting the thread securely.

Donut Case Steps 5 6

Step 5: Now pin the piece with the icing to the wool side of one of the solid circles. Zig-zag stitch along the edge of the inner circle.

Step 6: Lay stuffing between the layers of the ring, pushing the stuffing firmly toward the centre so that the edge remains free of stuffing. Pin the outer edges closed.

Donut Case Steps 7 8

Step 7: Stitch the outer edges together, stitching 0.5 cm (3/16") from the edge. Spread the stuffing evenly between the layers.

Step 8: Now stitch the zipper in place. First stitch it to the upper section (with the icing) and then to the bottom circle.

Donut Case Steps 9 10

Step 9: Pin the circles together, right sides facing. Stitch 1 cm (3/8") from the edge, all around. Attention: Leave the zipper open, to be able to turn the case right side out.

Step 10: Finally, hand sew the edges of the zipper tapes to the inner side.

FINISHED! Fill these yummy pouches with all your favorite pens and pencils to bring to your school or office. Can also be used as small travel cosmetic bags!
