Cut (Decovil Light without seam allowances, lining fabric with 1 cm/ 3/8 in seam allowance): round bag piece: 2 x Decovil Light, 2 x lining; bottom piece: 1 x of Decovil Light, 1 x of lining
Press all 3 cuts of Decovil Light onto the wrong side of the exterior fabric and cut out with a 1 cm/ 3/8 in seam allowance.
Side pieces: Pin lining and exterior pieces right sides together (we cut the lining generously here for effect) and stitch the ends/rounded section with 1 cm/ 3/8 in allowance.
Trim the seam allowances on the curves and turn the piece to the right sides facing out. Stitch close to the edges along the full piece.
Cut away any excess allowances back to 1 cm/ 3/8 in.
For the straps cut 2 bias strips from exterior fabric (apx. 5 x 70 cm/ 2 x 27.5 in), press each in half lengthwise in the middle right sides facing (2.5 cm/ 1 in) and stitch 1.4 cm/ .5 in from the edge.
Cut the allowances back and turn the straps so that the right sides are facing out. Pull the cording through the strap with the help of a safety pin.
Pin the round pieces right sides facing (lining and exterior) and stitch upper edge (between the marks) along the 1 cm/ 3/8 in allowance and turn (attention to the strap placement is needed). Pin bottom.
Pin the straps in the openings (finished lengths are apx. 52 cm/ 20.5 in) and sew in place.
Topstitch around the circle close to the edges (securing the straps along the top).
Stitch the side pieces/bottom piece onto the round bag pieces, right sides facing, with a 1 cm/ 3/8 in allowance. Wrap the seam allow-ances with bias trim (attach unfolded and stitch)
Fold the bias trim to wrap the allow-ances and secure with hand sewing or with your machine.
Tassel wrap: Use the ironing board to lay out the yarn lengths (apx. 60 cm/ 23.5 in) and make as many lengths as you prefer.
Remove the yarns from the ironing board and wrap another yarn for apx. 17 cm/ 7 in centered and knot the ends well.
Lay the loop on one strap and wrap the tassel to secure it, knot the ends well.
Finally, cut your tassel ends to your preferred length.
For the beach, brunch, ot a day of shopping - this bag will hold it all!
