If you are like me, and you love to watch The Bachelor, and are part of #BachelorNation, then you also must love looking at all the dresses the contestants wear! It amazes me that each week they wear new gowns to the rose ceremonies and I have read online that before going on the show these women spend thousands of dollars on dresses to wear. Summer Trend 2017: Embroidery

8_medium

It’s all in the details this summer! The biggest trend that is coming in 2017 is definitely embroidery. We can see the delicate stitching everywhere right now – on street style blogs, in the stores of Zara, H&M and Co. and on DIY blogs. More and more brands start carrying huge collections of embroidered pieces – also because machine embroidery has been developed further during the last couple of years. And while huge brands mostly show flowery patterns, the Pinterest world goes crazy over cacti, insects and eyes which are embroidered on basically any fashion piece out there.

5 Essentials for your Work Wardrobe

Blogpost_workwear_medium

We don’t need hundreds of pieces to be stylish at the office throughout the year! Just a few reliable essentials help creating a nice outfit and being out of the door fast in the morning. Even better when those pieces are not too standard but have a little twist here and there, like ruffles, split seams or an over-sized fit. Sew yourself one of each five essentials and mix and match them easily!

Does your closet look like a smooth color transition from white-beige to greyish-black? Then you should finally add some colorful pieces. Wearing all-neutral colors is over and the best occasion to celebrate this is todays Mardi Gras. The so-called “Fat Tuesday” (today!) is the final day of the carnival revelry before Ash Wednesday. It is celebrated all over the world, but the most exciting outfits can probably be seen on the parades in Sydney, Rio and of course, in New Orleans, Louisiana!

Let us introduce: Greenery!

Opener_medium

This is Pantone’s color of 2017: a yellowy-green shade full of energy and freshness. As the Pantone Institute stressed when introducing it, the color is a symbol for new beginnings. So let the journey begin in our closets and on our sewing tables. To follow this trend we need fabric in all shades of green and patterns with a plain cut as the strong color will look vibrant on its own.
