New York Fashion Week: Sew the Looks!


The streets of New York City are buzzing this week with celebrities and influencers attending all the Spring 2019 Ready to Wear shows. I know fall is just starting, but the designers always show their spring collections at the start of fall, and their fall collections at the start of spring. This gives buyers time to shop what styles they want in their boutiques! The spring shows are always so much fun and give the end of summer a boost of bright colors and patterns. Last night the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards aired and wow what a show! In addition to all the great music, some interesting and bold fashions were worn by the stars. This takes me back to fashion school when we travelled to museums and were to design a collection inspired by the ancient exhibits for a project – I loved drawing fashion inspiration from the past and the gowns at this year’s annual Met Gala did not disappoint.
