August Round Up & September Plans!

The summer is coming to a close, as well as summer sewing! I always find people either get a lot of sewing done in the summer or take a little sewing break. Me personally, I do a ton of sewing in the fall and winter and don’t find myself sewing as much in the summer – but I in August I managed to whip up a fall pattern and quick maxi skirt that was perfect for cottaging. Burda Challenge Feature: Melissa Fehr

Last week we posted about The Burda Challenge 2018 and how we are joining forces with sewing blogger Saturday Night Stitch! I really only learned about the Burda Challenge this year when I saw Hila post that she was doing the challenge and invited all to join. Then I became fascinated with it and learned that the challenge was conceptualized in the forums of Pattern Review! Best of all, I also realized I have been technically doing a Burda Challenge every year since starting at Burda (almost 6 years ago) without even knowing it, because of my monthly Mash Ups! This week I wanted to take some time to feature past sewists that have done a Burda Challenge, and today we are happy to share what Melissa from Fehr Trade made for the Burda Challenge she did back in 2012.

Burda Challenge 2018

We were so thrilled when we saw Saturday Night Stitch post about her doing a Burda Challenge 2018 doing a Burda Challenge 2018 earlier this year, that we just had to get on board too! And to help everyone participating along in this challenge we created a printable planner so you can plan out all your 2018 projects. Hila from Saturday Night Stitch committed to sewing at least 1 garment each month from BurdaStyle magazine, and is encouraging others to join and make their own personal sewing goals.
