If I won the Project Runway Brother Innov-is 40 I would use it to make costumes to outfit the horses at Central Kentucky Riding for Hope (special needs therapy program) for their annual fundraiser, featuring a themed costume production with their horses and students. A friend bought one of these sewing machines, and is just thrilled with it. She says it can do everything but make coffee.

I think I would attempt something using some more creative stitching. The machines I use now are 60’s era and have strait and zig-zag only

If I were the lucky winner of the Brother Innov-is 40 sewing machine, the project I would tackle is designing and sewing outfits for teenage girls that make them look sexy without showing off every part of their bodies. Outfits that leave something to the imagination without looking like an old lady should be wearing it. I am just an intermediate sewer so it would be a big project for me. It has been my dream since 2007 when I went to a seamstress to make a dress for my daughter’s junior prom and she constructed a nightgown which had no shape and 2 straps and still sold it to me. 2 months later I bought a sewing machine and started teaching myself to sew.

I have 2 pageant dresses and a prom dress order – it would make the sewing so much easier – but the biggest challenge that I keep avoiding is a friends wedding dress

I’ve been hard at work loosing weight, and now that I have “less of me” new clothes to sew would be an additional incentive to continue on! A new machine that has greater capabilities than my current machine would be wonderful!

I would totally tackle some firsts, such as sewing a button up blouse and a pair of trousers, I have a fear of tackling both but I’m sure a great machine like the Innov-is will help me overcome them.
