Burda stitchers love their dresses, and we’re sure you’ll find a new favorite in this collection. From the breezy maxi dress to figure hugging styles, we’ve got something for boho beach goddesses and boardwalk vixens. These designs are from the May 2014 issue of Burda Style magazine.

A sweetheart neckline gives a feminine look to this structured dress. The tulip skirt is pleated for structure, so you get a sophisticated look. Make it in an eye popping coral or elegant black.

Relax in a comfy screenprinted 3/4 Sleeve Jersey Tee. You can tuck this into a skirt for the office or wear it with jeans.

Contrast facing creates flattering lines to highlight your curves and slim your figure in the Iris Dress. This dress works best in a stretch fabric, especially one in a fun print!

A Bomber Jacket to mix it up with those girly dresses. This piece has a classic ribbed hem and cuffs, plus a cool zippered pocket on one sleeve.

This Tunic has a full length hidden button placket for a little more structure. It’s a sleek piece to wear with shorts and sandals for the summer. Fitted with a seam at the bust and slits at the hip and sleeves.

Maxi dresses are a summer essential. This Maxi Dress has double spaghetti straps, a peekaboo keyhole neckline, and hidden pockets. It’s perfect for the beach, or spending the day looking glamorous but comfy.

How do you make a Strapless Bustier Dress with bust-flattering seams even more alluring? Add a full length 2 way zipper at the back. This piece makes a beautiful vacation dress in a fun floral, or dress it up in solid color satin.

This Asymmetrical Jersey Dress is a study in contrasts… one spaghetti strap and one tank strap, two summery fabrics, and a revealing neckline with a modest length. The solid side panels and extra ruching create a slimming look.

This paneled Portrait Neck Mini Dress shows off your most feminine assets with a beautiful square neckline and super short hem. Highlight the paneled look with jacquard prints in a mix of patterns.

You’ll be ready to hit the beach in this lovely summer collection. Try a figure hugging style like the Portrait Neck Mini Dress or Iris Dress for evening, and slip into the Maxi for a day running errands and sipping lemonade.

Happy sewing!

The US distributor for the international Burda magazine has posted messages about mailing delays for some of its German titles due to situations over which it does not have control. See this site for current updates:

I too would love to know where to locate the fabric featured in the portrait neck mini dress (blue and white)

It is absolutely gorgeous! Any suggestions on which online stores have beautiful printed jacquard and/or pique fabric? In burdastyle magazine, a lot of the patterns suggest the use of heavier fabrics such as jacquard or pique however there is not a lot of selection at the local fabric shops in canada

    thank you

Hi Burda, could you please fix up the sweetheart neckline dress? When I click on the link it has the same picture and 2 pictures of the drawings. Did you have a picture of the dress without a person wearing it? I rely on that picture to see how well the pattern has been drawn up.

The picture you have here is pretty good really, but I just want to see if the model is flattening the sides down for some reason
