Join the summer party this season! These fashionable and bright designs are from the May 2013 issue of burda style magazine. Summer airiness is the new holiday fashion and just what women want for their wardrobes – for traveling or at home. This colorful collection is a must see, check out all the styles.

This Maxi-Dress features a large print, and because of the length of the dress – the print shows beautifully! The draped bust section, a figure-accenting cut, and the bright contrast satin straps all will make you shine.

This long Top looks super in bright neon green! With no darts and longer in the back than in the front, you’re always beautifully dressed – even when it’s scorching hot. We love it worn with these Satin Trousers loose at the top and narrow at the ankle. Instead of a zipper they have a drawstring cord at the waist. These pants also include step by step sewing instructions with diagrams.

By the pool or in the café – this fitted Jersey Shirt in neon pink flatters every figure. The neckline plunges low in back, while gathering gives it a special, fun look.

This Cascade Dress has all the right elements needed to look fab at a cocktail party. With its flounces, empire waist and halter neckline it’s an absolute hit! and the draped bust section is just gorgeous.

The style of this colorful Dress is above the knee and slightly tapered to the hem edge. The bell sleeves add a lovely touch that are also pleated at the shoulders. This chic dress is made in a cool metallic jersey print that is perfect for special occasions.

This fitted Peplum Jacket will get your summer holidays off to a fantastic start! It has long sleeves and a hook and eye front closure. It looks great knotted at the front for a beachy look. We love it worn with this bright Neon Skirt that gives any outfit a great twist!

Satin in a creative print design plays the starring role so the knee-length Tank Dress can just be cut straight and simple. This lovely bright dress is ideal doe summer vacations and cruises!

First to the pool and then to town? Well, here’s the perfect thing to wear. This Short Bow Dress with sweet knotted draping is really versatile. The bandeau bodice doesn’t need straps because the fabric is doubled and it’s shirred at the back.

Pure summer feel! The stunning colors and decorative flounces give the wearer of this Skirt a real Caribbean glamour look.

Which style are you most likely to make for yourself this summer?

Happy Sewing!

The peplum jacket in the top picture (with the neon skirt) is worn undone and and the center fronts tied up together, and the last picture it is worn un tied and closed with one hook and eye done.

A cooler collection than many others with a good fabric selection assisting the overall vibe. Don’t love the Cascade Dress at all but the rest are very wearable and pretty.

I love the contrast satin straps on the maxi dress…and that print is too die for! It’s terrific that Burdastyle also shows the same print fabric in the pants. I think sewers like to see fabric used in different ways…it gets us thinking about different ways to use up that huge piece of fabric (the one that’s 5 yards) in our stash. Really love it. Anyone have an idea where the main fabric for the trousers and the maxi dress came from?
