This week’s new patterns from Burda Style Magazine are perfect for an active life in the city – stylish cuts with great comfort.

The Stretch Pencil skirt Made with stretch-jersey to really accentuate the figure, this skirt is the perfect piece to mix and match with, not just for spring but throughout the seasons. Try color blocking by using different colored fabrics for the different panels on the skirt. This skirt pattern is truly versatile.

Left: Linen Blazer, we love this blazer with its modern cut and straight lapels. Right: The Kimono Sleeve Jacket is great for spring days or chilly summer nights. It also looks great with skinny jeans or long skirts.

Two great pieces in one pattern. The Tunic Dress made from silk crepe with a side zipper and the Tunic Top from stretch jersey. This pattern is another one to vary; make the top side sections in another material or color and give it your own individual touch.

I really like the pencil skirt! (Though I am not yet sold on the super bright yellows for clothes. Good thing we sew : )

@wadoowindi I have actually ridden a bike in a similar jersey skirt, though mine is a little bit shorter and ends just above the knee so that probably helps. It is probably still not advisable, but it is doable. A lot of girls on my campus wear skirts while biking, you just need to wear spandex biking shorts underneath!

There is NO way the first model in the yellow pencil skirt (or anyone in that skirt) could ride a bicycle. The first photo is misleading. :-)

I made this skirt and I am going to ride a bike in it…therefor you have the zipper in the back…but maybe I will have to wear proper underwear because my racing bike will force me to open the zipper quite a bit
