Sultry summer styles are here, like a bandeau top and matching mini skirt, ultra feminine dresses, and swingy culottes. These patterns are from the May 2014 issue of Burda Style magazine.

This dress is all girl, with a revealing sweetheart neckline and full skirt. It’s full of dainty details like ruffles and tulle at the neck and contrast trim.

A quick and easy draft-it-yourself make you can whip up in an afternoon! This comfy Shirred Skirt makes a casual warm weather outfit or dressy beach coverup. Make one to match all your swimsuits.

Place the shirred waistline wherever you like to flatter your own figure. The Shirred Dress with Pockets has a pretty heart shaped neckline, full skirt, and deep pockets. It’s casual and romantic for a vacation in Venice or road trip.

The Paneled Spaghetti Strap Dress is perfect for showing off summer prints, like two different polka dots or a floral print accented with a bright solid. The knee length hem is versatile, but you can always make a flirty mini dress for hot summer days!

Fresh and feminine, this Sweetheart Blouse would make a French princess proud. It’s elegant like a suit jacket, but ultra ladylike with a peplum hem and floral print cotton. Closed with hooks and eyes.

Culottes are back! Make a trendy outfit with high waisted wide leg shorts and a crop top. It’s an unusual silhouette that’s chic with chunky wedges for the boardwalk.

Pin up style for the beach! This adorable features a retro inspired twisted bandeau top, mini skirt, and a sexy sarong wrap. You’ll be the best dressed doll at any pool party.

Hold all your beach essentials in this easy DIY Knapsack. Perfect for sunglasses, magazines, and wet swimsuits.

Beat sultry temperatures in this Layered Tank Top with two layers of sheer fabric. The cropped silhouette is on trend for high waisted shorts or slouchy harem pants.

This straight-cut blouse with shoulder yoke and high collar can be knotted casually over a bikini top or buttoned up with capris. Little gathers at the shoulder make the fit more feminine.

Spice up a plain tee shirt with this easy kiss decal DIY.

The Wrap Tank with Pockets criss crosses the body for an architectural summer look. This top has a generous hip length with pockets and a little peekaboo effect if you pair it with low rise pants. Show off those shoulders in this cool piece.

This collection is ready to hit the boardwalk! Super feminine dresses have a hint of old world style, when ladies still dressed up for a stroll along the beach. You’ll want to plan a weekend getaway to show off these culottes, tops, and the sexy bandeau set.

Happy sewing!

I made the wrap tank and it was very difficult to fit properly. I don’t think it is a good pattern. Good luck to anyone who trie it.

Too bad the wrap tank isn’t oriented with the criss-cross in the back!

Probably not too hard to reverse it – lower the back neckline, don’t put on the flap pockets, and then add some more room at the bust.

hmmm, looks gorgeous in the shoot but not very practical for wearing. I would love to see the styles just a wee bit modified so I can wear running after kids but still feel stylish and sexy. That said, a couple pieces are spot on. Love the layered tank and the button up shirt, cullottes and shirred skirt. Nice Collection overall.

I like the wrap top, although I’m not sure it would be flattering when standing upright. I suspect you could control the opening issue with hidden fasteners. Totally agree that the sweetheart dress and top, whilst very sexy, are too wide and would completely preclude a bra. The top is clearly not sitting properly on even the the model’s shoulders. Sexy in a styled shot, but irritating and impractical in real life. Sure you could adjust the pattern, but why should that be necessary?

Why are there NO patterns for big and tall men? My husband is 6’3" and 300 lbs. He’s the perfect man for me and I want to make him the white linen jacket and slacks I saw in your patterns, but the sizes are too small for me to use. Help??

I agree! I would like to see more men’s patterns on the site. Gets difficult when you have to try and sew for men who are long in the torso, yet wide through the shoulders. I understand your frustration!

I agree that there aren’t a lot of patterns for “guys” on this site but did you have to be so negative? How about asking for more guys patterns instead. Just saying that a little honey goes a lot further than your vinegar.

yes I did have to get so negative I have sent email after email to this company pleading for them to do something.Half the time I hear nothing back, the other times it’s all the same reply we try to satisfy all of our customers.Well I’m a client as least before this new take over the old company did try to add more men patterns. It’s the same when you go to any store be it Winners,Target etc the men’ s department is a little spot in the corner Men we need to stop this craziness and stand up and say enough is enough we are not going away we are staying on this planet lol

Great range girls. The layered tank has so many options. So easy to lengthen. The wrap tank with pockets with a bit of imagination will be great. Lengthen for a tunic with a tee underneath, or pattern length with tight tee, skinny jeans and boots. LOVE it.

Is it just me but do some these look a little difficult to wear? i.e the cross over top looks like it would fall open, the sweetheart neck line looks like it would fall off the shoulders, the wrap skirt doesn’t look like it would stay put, and the bandeau top looks like it would flatten the ladies. Don’t mind the layered tank, but its a bit too short for my liking. Not one of my favourite pattern sets….

Spot on! I was thinking how does this dress (and top) stays on the shoulders and what about bra straps. The model’s shoulders are broad and square, I am the opposite.
