Cool down with dresses in refreshing shades of blue, plus bootcut pants and a new take on the jersey tee. These designs are from the June 2014 issue of Burda Style magazine.

This Boxy Jacket with Leather Patches has a stand up collar and zipper front, plus smocked leather elbow patches. It’s a mix of mod and military style that changes the look of any outfit.

The Double Sleeve Dress features deep V-neckline, mini cap sleeves and a pleated insert. A pleated belt is draped loosely around the waist. There’s a lot going on in this dress, so prepare to make an entrance!

Twill Boot Cut Pants have a button and zip fly like your favorite jeans. These slim trousers flare out at the knee and are made without back pockets for a smooth look.

This narrow V Neck Tank Dress folds like origami and has hip pockets. A V neckline is created by criss crossing the fabric. Striped fabric sets off the neckline and tailored skirt at the empire waist. It’s a crisp little dress for spring and summer.

Slip on the Vest with Pockets when your outfit is missing that extra something. It’s a girlier take on the cargo vest with denim trim, printed fabric, and lots of pockets. Try it with a white tank and boyfriend jeans for that boho vibe.

Sundresses don’t have to be boring. This One Shoulder Dress sweeps across one shoulder and has a wraparound effect in the front. You’ll show both sides of the fabric, so pick a lightweight fabric with two good sides for this alluring design.

Contrast floral trim sets off the cap sleeves and neckline of this V Back Jersey Tee. Switch it up with a V neckline at the back and loose cowl in the front. It’s an unexpected touch for jeans and sneakers.

A soft silhouette is accentuated with a cowl neckline in this Tank Dress. Ribbon straps form a racerback detail and get threaded through attached belt loops to bring in the waist.

This Twisted Cap Sleeve Dress has subtle detail with understated gathers at the waist. It’s sporty with a generous knee length. You could also hem it into a mini dress to wear out dancing with strappy heels.

These pieces make a statement with interesting cuts and details, and shades of blue are the perfect go-anywhere color to let the construction shine. Make them pop with a summery shoe in blue or red. Summer holidays need a little patriotic dressing!

Happy sewing!

nice photography and styling. The set is really wonderful. The dress with the stripes is interesting because the skirt is cut on the bias, showcasing the directionality of the fabric.

This was promoted as modern Japanese in the magazine. I wonder why the change. Anyway, some nice pieces here.

These ones are all from the June 2014 issue, but you can also purchase them individually as digital downloads….just click through on any of the individual patterns and you’ll get to a page where you can buy the pattern.

My love for this set goes beyond the patterns. Seeing a bobbed haircut like that makes me want to bob my hair again. Even the color decisions are fantastic. I hope I can get around to making some of these beautiful dresses someday.
