The mock fly front is used most frequently as the front closure for bottoms, and the application is generally less complicated than inserting a <a href= “http://burdastyle.com/communication/sewpedia/show/355”>fly-front zipper. The pattern pieces have an extended seam allowance (fly extension) where the zipper goes instead of using separate facing and fly shield pieces.
