the grey is of course the wrong side because you should have your pants on inside out.the brown line is your legs.now this step is very important.the red line is where you shold start marking.don't draw the lines to close to your leg because trust me once you start sewing it and put it on your circulation will be cut off..anyhow you can adjust the size if you want.start your line at the very top of your pants at the side seam and work the line down.stitch along that line.*NOTE* if you're using denim do not forget to change your needle.trust me when I tell you this I forgot and my little needle popped right in my face :(.back stitch about 5 times at the top and bottom.so you can be really sure it wont come apart.DO NOT stitch the bottom of the jeans so small that you can't even get your foot in.
