Here is one little trick to make your collar standing up a little bit, instead of laying flat on the neckline :
You want to draw the line along the original neckline, but arriving 1 cm (0,4 inches) lower on the middle front and middle back.
But it should not be a parallel line : at the shoulder seam, it goes along the neckline.
