Overlap elastic ends by 0.5 inch (2.27 cm.) and stitch them together with a crisscrossed square. Pull joined ends inside the casing. Edgestitch opening to close it, stretching elastic slightly as you sew.

This is very helpful. I was just planning to shortened the sleeve of the blouse my aunt gave me.. then I saw your post. Thanks! I’ll post my finished product when I’m done. Thanks again!=)

I was just thinking about shortening the sleeves on a few blouses, and came across your tutorial. I’ll post a picture when I’m done.

This is such a simple project. Thank you for posting it. I have put in elastic before, but it is good to know what size is best for sleeve edge. Also, it is cute. I especially like that you showed very clear photos step by step with simple instructions to follow.
