A simple way to take thread clippings and turn them into awesome fabric! I got this idea after accidentally getting some thread stuck between some white fabric and the interfacing I ironed on the back. It made me so mad at first but then it occurred to me this could be a super cool way to use up left over thread scraps!

Technique Materials

Scrap thread clippings, See-through/sheer white fabric, and Fusible/iron-on interfacing

Hi, You can also do the same but between two layers of water soluble interfacing, then sew in a random criss-cross pattern on top of it (lots of seams). Then rinse the interfacing off, and you have a sheer fabric. Instead of thread, you can also use all sorts of yarn.

You can buy ready made such fabrics too, with threads/yarn in between layers or on top. Saw a neat wool felt one not long ago… :)

Let me explain my previous post. A Teflon sheet is a heat resistant but not heat proof sheet used in ironing to protect the iron and the fabric. The item you are ironing will not stick to the sheet either, but you have to let it cool about 5 minutes to be able to remove it. I’ve seen Target Bags melted to make fabric that is then stitched to make an item. So I thought about doing the same with clear plastic and thread from seeing your how to.
