I had a request for a tutorial of the patching methods I used in "Utilitarian Sewing". My teenage son and my husband are very rough on their jeans. I do a lot of necessary patching.
I repurpose denim from unwearable old jeans. The least worn parts are on the back of the legs and below the knees on the front legs, . I use a heavy-duty needle in my machine and thread similar to the color of the jeans being patched.

Thanks for this. I was looking for a less obvious way to patch my favorite pair of jeans.
