Do you have issues with zippers? They can make or break a sewing project. Consider trying a prickstitched lapped zipper which most discreetly and beautifully adorns your handmade creation. To view these zippers in action take a look at my Naughty Secretary Dress (http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/naughty-secretary and my Red Vixen Dress (http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/red-vixen-dress). For more discussion on this particular topic visit my blog (http://www.thecupcakegoddess.com/the-cupcake-goddess/2010/04/handpicking-a-lapped-zipper.html).
You will need: a current sewing project that requires a zipper; a conventional zipper, the length that is required for your project; needle and thread; zipper Foot for your sewing machine

Hi Sunni,
I just followed your tutorial for my first ever lapped zipper and it’s turned out really well. I usually hate hand sewing but I quite enjoyed this technique. Thanks for sharing such a well illustrated and easy to follow tutorial. I’ve got a few finishing touches to do before I share my project on Burda but of course you won’t be able to see my prick-stitched lapped zipper in the pictures as it is so neat and invisible :) !!
Cheers, Candy
