Take your yard of fabric and fold in half horizontally. If you are taller you will need more fabric. The length of the skirt will be the fabric folded in half minus 1" lost at the top and 1/2" at the bottom for the hem. Cut the fabric in half creating two long pieces of fabric measuring - 1/2 yard X the width of the fabric.
