from the inside, this is where I had a problem, not sure if it's noticeable in the pic, there is a raw edge showing at the top of the placket cut. If anyone has any ideas of how to correct this, please please please let me know.

To correct the raw edge, you could tuck it in, blanket stitch it, and then slip stitch it to the fabric, making sure not to go through to the right side.
