Step11_5_large

This is meant to clarify what is happening in step 12.
I hope to add a better picture for step 12 when I can.
Please let me know if this helps or further confuses.

“on step 12 i would have to lift the front of the vest up to sew to the seam allowance right?” – YES, In step 12 you would flip the front of the vest out of the way. That stitching should not be visible from the front of the vest because you are only sewing the welt to the seam allowance of the vest along the bottom opening.

There is technically only one welt. There is the skinny side that shows on the front of the garment. The other side of the welt is also the front of the pocket bag. What I think you are seeing behind the welt in the video is the back of the pocket bag peeking out. This is because my test is a little sloppy and I pressed it differently than the final version.

I hope that clarifies it a bit for you. Let me know if I need another video to explain. ;)
