Fold down the upper portion of the pocket (the part of the pocket that will lie closest to the body) down to match the the bottom portion of the pocket and pin the edges together.
When stitching the pocket bag together, catch the triangular sides of the opening seam and the folds of the welt together, and the top of the pocket bag. Continue stitching all the way down and around the pocket bag back up to the other side of the welt. Press.
