The finished seam. Because I've sewn accurately and trimmed well, my seam looks very neat. You should machine-baste your garment together and refine any fit issues before you sew French seams. Why? Letting out seams that have been sewn as French seams isn't much of an option! You can, of course, take the seams in and re-sew your French seams, but wouldn't you rather do it once?
