Next, put wrong sides together and thoroughly press the seam. Sew at 1/4" this time. I look at a marking on my standard presser foot and use it as a guide for my sewing. This isn't difficult when your fabric is pretty firm, like this lightweight cotton print. (It's a little trickier with fabrics like chiffon.)
