Hi there …..how would it be altered into a square neckline? I wanted to take a top with a normal v neck and alter it to a deep square neckline…. I am somewhat full busted (37C) and want to avid the shoulders falling out as you mentioned. Would i treat it the same as a U neck and take a dart at the corner of the square toward the breatstpoint (with the corner f the squared neckline lining up with the dart position of your example)? That seems logical t me but then i am a real newbie at pattern making.

Hm, I’m not quite sure, but it could work. Try it, make a toile! If you like, try placing the temporary dart there in one toile and one along the side of the neckline (as in the v-neck) in another one. I’m not sure which placement would be better. Good luck, and do let me know the result if you try it :-)!
