Here is a quick how to for the Knife Pleat, the most basic and common pleat used in sewing. It is a single pleat turned in one direction.

  Fantastic Tutorial! I really like the pictures, esp the “this is what it should look like”. With woolens, esp. tartans, this should be very helpful. It is also helpful for sewing costume. Please do one on cartidge pleating!
