Here is a slideshow about using the Japanese measuring wheel. Understanding the amount of ease in a sleeve head is useful in determining if the sleeve would be better sewn flat or in the round. Sleeve ease is also a matter of preference to many sewers. If you have done a fit change to a princess seam or a sleeve, measuring the two joining sections is great info.
