A quick tutorial to describe an easy way to sew narrow (thin) straps for a dress or other item and turn them inside out hassle free. This technique could easily be adapted to other items - arms and legs on soft dolls, for instance. Please read the entire instructions before beginning so you know where you're heading.
* Fabric * Scissors * Piping cord, ribbon or old shoelace * Sewing machine

Thanks for the post. I’ve tried this one many times and was unsuccessful, but i didnt use a cord like that one…ill try it again. the easiest way ive found is with a tool i bought and i love it and made my life easier. if i dont have a tool im going for this one.

I looked at those little hooks for turning straps right side out and was wondering what to do if the strap is too long to fit on one of those (I have some ideas in mind). Your tutorial helped resolve that problem and gave me courage to continue with my design idea (hopefully soon to be a project).

Another tip is to cut the fabric for the strap on the bias. It will help in turning the strap and after it is right side out, the strap can be pulled to stretch even thinner.
