Tulle is super fun and quite easy to sew - make your own tutu/tulle skirt! It is very popular for the 2010 holiday season and is inexpensive to sew. fyi a member named Jennif contacted me stating she also had directions on how to make a tulle skirt but I can't find her project, contact info, or instructions. Jennif, send me the link I will gladly link your instructions to mine.
Cotton/poly stretchy material for the skirt and 8 yards of tulle. Here is my finished skirt. <http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/the-tutu/>

That’s really full. It looks like your tulle has littler holes than usual… is it any special kind? (It looks a bit more like stiffer chiffon)

The tulle I used is the same as you would use for making a wedding veil. I found it impossible to capture on video, but thats all it is – you can get it at any fabric store.
It is sewn with close layers and gathered very tightly to make it very full. By just gathering it less and with greater distance between layers it becomes more like a skirt and less like a plate.
I found the tulle with the larger holes to be more stiff and didn’t have the soft hand I was looking for on this project… hope that is helpful to you!
