For instructions on how to attach to an ordinary zip puller, see my blog post: http://constructivblog.wordpress.com/2009/10/04/making-a-chunky-knotted-leather-zip-puller/ If you are adding the tassel to a zip pull on a bag, it may be best to add a few rings to make a small chain before you get to the tassel so that it hangs in a good position on the bag.
